Will this tach work on my snowmobile?

Question:
I have a 2003 Polaris Supersport 550 and it does not include a tachometer from the factory. I have found a tach on eBay that matches the speedometer which has three lights on it. One of which is a reverse indicator light. My snowmobile does NOT have reverse on it but all I require is the tach itself. Will it work satisfactorily?

It should you don't have to use reverse light.
