Question:
I purchased a set of tires a few years ago and the tread actually seperated on one of them only one month after I had them put on. Those tires where only about $40.00/tire, but I didn't think I'd have to worry about the tread seperating. I figured that they might wear quicker than more expensive tires, might create more road noise and might not handle as well.
Anyway, its time for me to buy a new set of tires now, but I'm concerned about this happening again. My tire size is 195/70 14 so even the most expensive models are $100 a tire, but I can get Dural (which aparently is made by Dunlop) for $49.95 per tire mounted and balanced. But, again, because of my bad experience, I am skeptical about the safety issues when it comes to cheaper tires.
