How long will a car service take at arnold clarks - roughly?
dohc is betterAll other things being equal, go with the DOHC.
#1: as the higher-end motor when stock, the DOHC engine will be of more interest to people modding their cars, and so more aftermarket parts will be available to serve the modding community.
#2: as the higher-end motor when stock, the DOHC engine will be making more overall horsepower out of the box, whereas with the SOHC you'll need to make mods just to match the DOHC.
As for your question about the underdrive pulleys and powering the amp: you need to make up your mind about whether you want power in the engine or power in the stereo.
What type of truck is shown on the tv show Rob and Big?
The mods you make to your car's engine may produce more power, but the weight and power demand of your electronics will use up that power. So, if you're more concerned with speed, use the underdrive pulleys and keep your audio system relatively small and lightweight -- but if you're more concerned with sound, skip the underdrive pulleys, as you'll get very little gain for too much money. Spend that cash on a heavy-duty ground strap or two for your sound system.
Where can I find a good design for a solar car?
By the way, the alternator doesn't power the amp, etc. -- the battery does. The alternator charges the battery. If it weren't this way, you wouldn't be able to listen to the radio with the engine off. So make sure you have a battery in good condition and you'll be fine.
I have a 97' neon and the book says it can use reformulated gas so can i use ethanol,e85?
I liked the neons.org suggestions as well. The DOHC has dual cams because this design theoretically provides a shorter, more mechanically solid method of actuating the valves and greater ease in separate control of exhaust and intake valve events. Aesthetically, I also think the wider heads give the engine a more muscular look. Will my engine sound diffrent if a put a cold air intake in?
So, the DOHC design should perform better at higher rpms. However, as a practical matter, I doubt there is a perceptible difference. Modify the engine you have. Also, delete the "remove the seal from the far edge of the hood" from your project. That seal is there for a reason. You are not going to want engine compartment smells, fluids and debris spattering up onto your windshield and sucked into your A/C and heater. I also agree with the other responder's advice on the alternator underdrive pulley.
