Originally the FORD Thunderbird was built to compete with the CHEVY Corvette. Both were 2 seat sport cars begun in the late 50s. Unlike the Vette the Bird was metal not fiberglass. After a few years, like a lot of Fords, it got bigger and heavier and finally became a full size car with front & rear seats. T-birds can't really be called Muscle Cars because they began prior to the 60s and didn't remain a true sports car. By the 60s it was a luxery sports car.Just another crap american gas guzzler
