If you go for an eye exam and it turns out you need glasses, do the doctors report it and therefore you'd have to get a new license?

Cause I know some people have a thing on their drivers licence that says they have to be wearing glasses in order to operate a car...
Answers:
Actually, if the optometrist tells you you need the glasses for driving, you have to declare that for your driver licence. If he prescribes glasses, but you are not told you need them for driving, you do not have to declare that. In Manitoba, the driver renewal includes a question about corrective lenses that must be answered. If your vision is absolutely horrible, falling below certain mandated standards, without lenses, the optometrist can report it to DVL and they will require a report form sent in before they give you a licence endorsed for lenses. If it isn't provided, they can suspend the licence until such time as you authorize the optometrist to give it to them.
