It might save your life. I had a blowout going 90 mph with no guard rail but I was driving to the left of a huge tractor-trailer and my car spun around 180 degrees and latched onto the truck and it saved the lives of me and my 4 passengers.They may not be able to see you and big trucks create a vacuum which could suck you in if you don't pay close attention!!

My two cents worth :how many driving lessons did you have?
1. As mentioned, you might be in their blind spots.

3. At high speeds, wind turbulence caused by these large vehicles can throw your vehicle off balance.
4. If ever you need to swerve, it's better to clip another vehicle similar in size to yours, rather than get sandwiched by these monsters.
If you have ever seen those large pieces of tire tread along or
in the middle of the road that is where they come from. If they
hit your car they will hundreds of dollars worth of body damage.
If you drive behind a bus for any lenght of time, you will be
breathing diesel fumes ( its guarenteed) .
