Why do some people think it's better to back your car into a space?

Question:
To me, it seems much more difficult and time-consuming to back into a parking space than to drive directly into it. What is the reason for backing up, other than a quick getaway?

Answers:

Can I say that I can not identify the driver to an automated red light violation in california ?

Its easier to get out when leaving. When you're backing into the space, everybody is aware of that and will stop to allow you to back in. Once its time to leave, all you have to do is pull out and you have a better view of incoming traffic, especially if it is crowded and tight. Imagine trying to backout your little car between two big SUVs. You're so far in that you can't see cars coming from either side. But had you backed in, you'll be right there to see incoming traffic. And yeah, it also allows for a quick getaway. Lastly.most cars are designed with the front fascial in mind so if you drive a nice car, boy it is sweet to see the front!

You require much less space to back a car into a space than driving straight into it. Therefore you can create more parking spaces.
