They type of transmission has no bearing on the cost of insurance. It's based off the drivers past driving history and the type of car they drive. For example if you drive a 1995 Ford Festiva with a manual transmission or automatic you will pay a lower price then if say you where driving a 1995 ford mustang. Both these cars came with manuals and automatics.
