What I did for my prom was find a restored car from the year my date and I were born. Granted, Im much older, and cars from the sixties are much cooler than cars from the eighties... but it leaves an impression!! In mycase, I drove up to my dates house in a Black 63 Thunderbird.

I went to the british TVR owners club website for my nephews as a christmas present, one of the guys that posted there was local and said he'd do it if I paid his petrol and chucked him a couple bottles of wine. Why not try that? There will always be a car owners club near you, just google it.

Failing that, find a local guy with something you like and ask them. Just be up front and say it's for your prom and you want to make an impression. Just make sure you tell the guy / gal what a fantastic car they have and how you've always wanted one.
