I got a short shifter and it's hard to switch gear?

Question:
i bought my car a year ago and it got some aftermarket short shifter. it's really hard for me to go in gear 1 and 2. some mechanic told me its not the tranmission's problem but its the shifter's. do you guys have any ideas?? please help me out

How much does a seat coast (the car) approx ?

try reinstalling the factory shifter. if you don't have one check the junk yard.
