How does the movement of engine result in movement of car?

How does the movement of the pistons get transferred into moving the wheels? What part is taking the movement of the engine pistons and causing that to move the wheels?

The transmission (aren't English words wonderfully explanatory), the transmission transforms engine movements into wheels in motion // all of those pistons thumping up & sown provides energy that sets a central shaft in motion, that shaft is connected by gears to the wheel hubs spinning the tires - - - other gears provide forward & reverse..

Does the law in Texas require both plates to be on the car? Or can one have the car's brand on it?

The pistons go up and down and are connected to a crankshaft. The shaft then transfers the motion to the flywheel and then to the transmission. The up and down motion is converted to circular motion. This is really hard to visualize, I know check this site out for a very good explanation.
