engine and exaust tone sound the same when you are just idleing or reving the engine but it will sound different from automatic to manual when you are driving. When your automatic transmisison shifts, it shifts from one gear to the next via a hydraulic pressure system that is controlled by the revolutions per minute of the engine and the tire speed. the newer automatic transmissions are so smooth, you almost cant feel the gears shift. (older autos have a noticible shift point)What's the website to get grills, bodykits and various accessoris for your car?
The manual transmissions are just that.. manual, you have to manually disengage the engine from the transmission via pressing the clutch in manually. then you rev your engine while you engage the gears to the engine via your foot pedal called the clutch. it does sound different.

Next time notice the differences in the exaust tone or engine sound when you are at the stop light from a person shifting gears and a automatic transmission shifting on its own.
