I have a 91' infinity: does any one no if you can use another type of rear strut than the original equipment?

Its a 91 M30 with these strange rear struts original eqip is 250.00-300.00 a strut. I just want to keep the thing from bouncing. Its a hoopty...but still has a good engine and sound otherwise.
