Small pickup with great gas milage?

I will be driving pretty soon when I get my car, well truck. I want it to be a pickup so I can put my bike in the back, but Id like a 2-door cab with those small little back seats that 2 other people can fit in...are those extended cabs? Well my school is 22 miles away, and that adds up. I dont want to be playing so much in gas bills. What make/model do you reccomend? Toyota Tacoma perhaps?

If the bike you refer to is a bicycle, then I would check into another option that I think is better for many reasons. Look into a Subaru Outback. This will have the room you need in the back, but it will keep it out of the weather and you can leave it in the car. Also, it gets fuel economy like a car, has a wider track base and clearance like a truck, but still a low, safe center of gravity. This will handle much better than a truck and has a very reliable engine. Plus, you now have four real doors for passengers.

However if by bike you only mean a bicycle, not a motorcycle, you can still by a small economy car and attach a bicycle carrier to the trunk. That would suit your 4 seat and your mpg requirements much better than any truck.

Imports are dependable...I can say if you are chasing mileage avoid the canyons and Colorado's they drink gas and that goes for last generation S-10s and sonomas also..in the 14-20 mpg range average..Dont be in a rush take your time do your homework... but this is good place to start
