In previous generations, a car's trim level was given a proper name, like Pontiac's Tempest, LeMans, Lemans Custom, and GTO (the latter being a special performance model aside of trim level.) These days, trim levels are signified by these designations. Sometimes they have some meaning, like SE means "Special Edition," but in most cases it's just nonsense . . . including SE.

I believe Honda's base cars tend to be DX, and then they have LX and maybe SE? I dunno. But you should get the point at this, um, point! :-)
