Days ago, I parked my car in a bay of 'park & shop' in Ealing which allowed 30mins stay. I didn't watch the time as usual as I didn't think I would stay more than 30mins. I went to 2 shops only, which were just about 15 shops apart ( I parked just in the middle of them) I went strict to a grocer to buy some fruits. After that I went back to put the heavy bag into the car boot. Then I went to a supermarket. After I came out from the supermarket , I saw the parking attentant started sticking the ticket to my windscreen! I was very upset and try to beg him, but useless of course. Then I asked him about the time I exceeded. He checked and said '6 ', but I forgot to ask when did it start.
I would like to buy xenon headlight bulbs to replace my stock bulbs. will they be brighter?
I checked my receipts and found that they're issued at 11:43 and 11:56, and I believed that the time I stayed in the grocer wouldn't be longer than in the supermarket. However, I queued for a few mins in both shops.
Do I have any ground to appeal? How? would the receipts useful in help?

I think that you should appeal, if only because there is an appeal process. I have previously been successful at appeal. I have a theory that a number of appeals are allowed to demonstrate that the appeals process is not a token gesture with absolutely no prospect of success irrespective of circumstances. Be sure to lodge your appeal within the alloted timescale.

Sorry , I dont have one single idea what you're talking about. You lost me at "I went strict to a grocer.." I lost the will to live after that. Shame because you obviously have a problem with your parking ticket!I'm going to take my permit test (driving portion). Do you guys have any words of advice?
yes you can appeal against it. they very rarely let u off as i have appealed a few times!but even if they dont let u off then at least u will have more time to get the money together.
they usually get back to u within 4-6 weeks.

Yes you can appeal but not if you went over the time limit. The ticket and receipts should inform you. There are no grounds for the appeal in saying you were delayed.Would a blk car with pink flame decals look good?
its hard to understand the time barriers in yr question but it is definately worth an appeal some parking attendants really try their luck with the public and the times may not have been recorded properly in their pocket book if you dont try you dont get!Why do tractor trailers have the word "FISH" on the back doors?
You may have grounds, but is it worth your time and trouble to do so. I would just pay the ticket and forget it.You can try to appeal... you wont lose anything (the time limit to pay the lesser charge doesnt include the time spent appealing)

You may be lucky. Over the last year, I have had 2 tickets. I appealed against both.
the first, I thought I had no chance of winning - I did win, it was overturned. (that was in outer London)

The second I thought would definately be overturned, as I was with an OAP and had to park in a 'loading only' bay, as they could not walk far - I was displaying a disabled badge.

I think you'll have more chance in a london borough, as they get many appeals and dont have the time to go into the facts in detail
