Question:
i'm not rich and i'm buying my first nonused car in my life. i always had 10 year old cars so i think i deserve to spoil myself a bit with a nice new car. i cant afford much higher then 30k for a car. so i was thinking of either going cheap with a camery, or is it better to just pay a grand or 2 more for the lower end of a BMW or a lexus? i gota have a v6 and love aggresive looks of the lexus but dont' like the length of the camery. i cant' make up my mind

In my dodge neon, my fm radio does not work but my am does?!?!?
the bmw and the lexus are definitely the more "fun" cars to drive. the lexus is probably one of my favorite cars, but its also smaller than the other two. the is250 is based off the toyota corolla platform. (it is not the same car though just similar dimensions). the bmw is a little larger and a little faster and equally as fun to drive (ive had 2 bmw's) but the bmw will also be the most expensive to upkeep. bmw makes good cars but parts are just more expensive.the toyota camry is just a different car altogether. the xle especially is designed around luxury. it will ride better, (not handle better) and will be a nice car for a long time. the parts will be cheaper than both of the other cars (even though the is250 is a toyota). if you want a long term classy car, get the camry. but they are a little bland in their looks and driving habits. if you want a fun car get either the bmw or lexus. you cant lose w/ either car but they both drive differently.
bmw is more a torque engine, the lexus more a horsepower engine. both have top end cut offs around 140. (142 for the bmw). the bmw will be quieter.
From a previous owner of all three. The Lexus and Camry are both made by Toyota. The Lexus is more of a status symbol than the Camry, which is a small family car. Either will last a very, very, long time. Have a great resale value. And neither require more than typical maintenance.

The Beemer? Well, to me it's like a Rolls. It comes with a mechanic in the trunk! And unless you find a sucker, resale ain't too good.

Since you want to spoil yourself, I would say the BMW. It's quite the fun car to drive, defiantely has soul which unfortunately the Camry and Lexus don't have. What is the thing on top of cars called, the one where you can put extra stuff in?
It's all about, "do you want the hot babe, that will last a few years but you'll use her like a rag doll for personal pleasure, or do you want the librarian thats reliable and stay with you awhile, but be boring in the bedroom" ?
But otherwise, any decision is good.

All cars are wonderful. If I were you, I would get the BMW. I have a BMW right now and it is great. I had a Lexus and I guarantee you it will not last 10 years. In Lexus', when you reach 90,000 miles, its dead. The Toyota will not get any street cred but it will last you a while. I have a 2003 BMW 330xi, I have been in 2 major accidents with it and it is still holding up well. I now have about 55,000 miles on it and I am ready to upgrade to the 525XI and sell my 330XI. I would definitely recommend the BMW and I hope if you get it, you will have good luck with it.
