Which one is better? 1993 lexus sc 400 or 2002 honda civic??

As you can see by the answers you're already getting, there is a perception, not supported by any factual evidence, that all mechanics (and tow truck operators) are a bunch of crooks.

5th Wheel Towing Capacity???

You get stopped, found to be driving drunk, you go to jail and your car is impounded. Suddenly it becomes the fault of the tow truck driver that you got drunk.

How many quarts of oil does a 1998 dodge caravan with a v6 hold?

You run your car out of oil because you never bothered to check it, and blow up your engine, and I'm a crook because I tell you how much it will be to replace the engine you ruined.

If Honda's Toyota's and other Jap junk?

Educate the public one person at a time if you can. For those that are jerks, you absolutely can walk away just as the plumber would. I've done it.

How much does a gallon of unleaded gas weigh?

I often have people who run out of gas, then crank on it trying to make it start until they have burned up the fuel pump. They call me, I deliver fuel. It still won't start, so it gets towed to the shop where they find a bad fuel pump. And what does the customer then say to me? "You brought me bad gas and it burned up my fuel pump." You really can't win, so just keep trying. Remember to smile.

What is wind noise when talking about cars?

because they like to rip their customers off by charging them to much for repairs

Is the practice test of the permit at dmvnow in virginia the same as the actual test?

Its a classist thing. People who work with their hands don't get the respect they deserve. If you wear a suit and a tie and have soft clean hands somehow that makes people treat you with respect. If you work with your hands and you get dirty, no matter how good you are or how productive you are or how much skill you have, some people--not all--don't give you respect for your work. That includes farmers, construction workers, mechanics, factory workers...its not right. All work deserves to be honored.

Why is machinery like cars and ships referred to as females?

because they are smarter then we are and take advantage of us financially for our ignorence, they are dirty, smelly, and the crack of their butt is always sticking out. The job is labor intensive and we are always angry that the car is broke in the first place and cost so much to fix so we take it out on the mechanic :).

Any one having problems with their Mazda vehicle?

Maybe because people generally think that they are dirty, or stupid. If you look at most shows with plumbers, or whatever you see that the show makes them look stupid or dirty. But technically, mechanics know a lot of things. They know how to fix things, such as pipes, and toilets. I don't know about you but i can't fix those things. Anyway, they are still human and should be treated fairly.

Where do all the MRT trains go at the end of the day?

It's not just mechanics, I think anyone who works with customers is fair game. I work in grocery retail and you should see the way some of the customers treat us. It's always our fault if prices are too high or a competitor has something on sale and we don't, etc...

What are some tips to negotiate the best price on a used vehicle?

It's a negative effect of the job. people generally see mechanics as trying to get as much money as possible from one person. But it can also be a good thing to watch people makes ***es out of themselves; it can really make you laugh. I'm not a mechanic but i saw it happen. this guy was talking to the mechanic like he was a four year old, and was complaining about the price before he even got it from the mechanic. When he did it was really low, and he started to studder at him.

Will a tow company tow your car even if your dog is inside?

"Mechanics" ARE crooks. They work at chain repair shops, are usually poorly trained in both automobiles and life. "Technicians" on the other hand are a different species. They do what they do because they like the reward of fixing something normal folks can't.Your uncle Leroy could probably change your spark plugs, but when he strips one out in the head and it cost's you $1100 to get it repaired by a "Technician" you'll likely not invite ol' Leroy to dinner anymore. Find places that hire and support ASE trained techs, like dealerships, long standing mom and pop shops, etc.

As a single mom in her 40's with two kids in high school I have been ripped off by half the mechanics in the Los Angles area ~~~ honest to heavens they saw me coming.

Can you drive a tiptronic gearbox if you have only passed on a automatic test?

Over a twenty year period I found two mechanics that were honest, trust worthy guys and I spoiled them rotten. Homemade pizza and cupcakes for the whole crew anytime I had the money to spare, which was about once every two months, whether or not something on my car was broken or not...

Those guys who work at car dealerships who wash the cars and park them. What is that position called?

Sorry to say a few dishonest people in every walk of life destroy it for everyone. Same goes for doctors, lawyers, gardeners, salespeople, et. al.
