You're making me panic now - I though it had gone up to £200 not £300.I don't believe it is possible to renew your tax so far in advance. I think it is something like 2 weeks before the tax is due for renewal.
Your tax never went upto £300 cause your type R is a clean efficient engine. Mine went up to £300 though cause its a not so clean, but it is very fast so worth the extra.
