What's the difference between an Elise and an Exige?

Question:
Don't they both have the same engine? I've noticed the Exige has a tail which gives it more traction, on the other hand the Elise is lighter. I also know the exige is supercharged, but wouldn't the Elise be a better platform to modify because of the lower weight?
