Yes, they pay by the liter and we pay by the gallon. A liter is a lot smaller and they price it higher. Then there's the taxes! Let's just say that our gas taxes aren't so bad after all!They also have more fuel efficient cars and much smaller countries to drive them in.

Truth of the matter is, they don't pay more for gasoline. They just pay an outrageous amount for the taxes on that gasoline.They pay the same amount for crude as we do or any other industrialized country in the world. They just aren't smart enough to elect folks who can give them tax relief.

However, in the USA, we actually pay far MORE for our petroleum than we realize. Every year (even without war), our military and goverment spend BILLIONS OF DOLLARS securing foreign oil so that Americans will have "cheap gas".
When you think on those terms, the actual cost of oil in the USA is much higher for all citizens than we realize.
