You can take a good book, or an MP3 player and have your favorite music available. (I suggest Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card)
I just bought a new stereo with a flash drive input for my truck , it is nice when I can't find anything good to listen to.
( I can put 30-32 songs on it, along with my business files)
At your age, you probably shouldn't be driving a long distance anyway. I say this because long distance driving is very tiresome and with an inexperienced driver, it makes for bad situations.
(If you have a license at all)
Which make/model of vehicles gets the best gas mileage?
find a nice bar and drink a little and kick up your heels.Purpose of having engines in the back of a car?
Sleep.(I'm a former professional driver.) Get lots of naps, whenever you feel like it. If it is a trip over two days, you'll start to get dazed from the driving, and you must to this.
DON'T drive over 400-500 miles a day. Even pro's don't. Anything you do otherwise will just take away from your driving capability, like watching movies, or whatever, so do this, instead: Stop at nice places, relax, and walk around at least 3 times a day. Shower! It's worth the 7$.
DON"T eat the gunk they sell at truck stops - Stop at Walmart or wherever and stick to fresh green stuff you can digest easy, and not gum up your system nor get you drousy on the road.
IF you drink anything, have only a few before bedtime, and THAT'S ALL.
When driving, keep up your eyes to ahead, up mirror, right mirror, left mirror and all over again. Predict what's up ahead. Listen to CB if you have one for tie ups ahead, but don't get into conversations... Brainless.
"Brake Check!" in trucker talk is "Road blocked," for example. Of course, CB talk can be interesting, if you're the passenger at the time. Watch out for scammers, thought, especially in NJ.
If someone offers to join you at your vehicle Say NO.
Lock your car EVERYWHERE.
Get a trucker's atlas, and pre-plan your trip, a good idea, anywhere. Learn how to read it, like the mile marker signs, where the next rest stop or point of interest is, etc. That can keep you REAl busy.
Be sure to do vehicle maintenance once a day, to know what your car is doing? Having an oil change or lube before you go? Got extra oil, rad fluid, etc? How's the tires, or do you want to change one on the way? Wipers OK? Inflation pressure? Wheel lugs OK? Pro's check these at least once a day.
Driving in winter conditions? Have a winter emergency kit? Extra clothes, sleeping bag, food, can to crap in, candles, water, shovel, etc?
Wear safety belts when asleep.
Read and learn about black ice and how to avoid.
Get cell phone and charger with free plan - Lots to do there.
Take up a new language and learn it on your CD. Mexicans speak Spanish, and Canadians speak French. People in Arkansas speak Clintonite, and people people in Louisiana speak Martian.
OH! You said SIX HOURS! Hell...Download all the ANN NICOLE SMITH tapes and diagnose who"s the father!
