Question:
Is the engine strong enough? If I need to get out of someone's way quickly or if I need to merge onto traffic will it accelerate with enough power.
What is the price of gas in your neck of the woods??
I currently have a V6 and have test driven vehicles with 2.3 (or is it 2.4) and those were fine. I've never driven a 1.8.
The vehicle I wanna test drive is a 30 minute drive so before wasting an hour I thought I'd ask first.
Thanks :o)

Are Plymouth Neons good with Gas Mileage?
If you are used to driving 6 cylinder engines, then you probably won't be too impressed with a the 1.8 4-cylinder in the matrix. How come everyone's cars are breaking down?
If it is fairly new, then it might have a bit of get up and go. It's mostly up to you if you feel it has enough power.
What is the penalty for fraud involving handicap parking placards in NJ?
It's pretty rare that you need power to get out of someones way (unless you are trying to pass someone and there is a car coming at you). Having power to merge is important too - but it is mostly dependent on how psychotic the people you are trying to merge in front of are.
Accidentally jumped red light but didn't see flash, what does that mean.shall i be penalised?
nah get a 16 cylinder engine much betterIt's pretty zippy. The way it's geared is for a sporty feel, and the car is pretty small and light. I tried one and it was pretty decent, wasn't sluggish. Now, I was in a standard, and if you get an automatic, you'll be subject to the responsiveness of the transmission.
Why is the Plymouth Voyager still so popular?
SureThe 1.8L in the Matrix will be fine. Just rev higher rpms and it'll be plenty powerfull. Don't be afraid, at least 4 cylinder engines withstand the higher rpms that would kill a V6. Also be sure to pay attention to the minumum octane requirements. Some smaller displacement engines require higher octane gas to make better power (all the Xion's do), so be sure and read the owner's manual or you'll be disappointed in both performance and fuel mileage.
People always look at the horsepower rating, but what is more important is TORQUE. If car manufacturers offer different HP engines in a particular model, you have to look at a couple of things. Is the gas mileage worse, or does it require more expensive gas (higher octane).
Here's one for the smokers. Do you light one up when in your vehicle driving or not?
Try them out and READ the specifications (don't trust the knowledge of the sales people)
