Can I rent a car w/o the extra surcharge if I'm under 25?
I am a professional mechanic and recommend changing your oil and filter every 3000 miles or 3 mos. By doing a regular service you will extend the life of your engine. Oil changes are far less expensive than engines. Oil will " break down " as far as lubricatingproperties are concerned.
Is premium gasoline really worth it ??!?
Use synthetic, or half synthetic oil. If you want your engine to really last, the best thing you can do is change the oil on schedule. Old, dirty oil is not nearly as good of a lubricant, and the bearings, races, and piston rings will wear out much faster. How do you go about getting a hgv license to drive lorrys for companies?
Then again, there are a hundred other things that can go wrong with your car that will take it out of commision before the engine quits on you, getting a new engine is just the most expensive.
Been doing fine with the 3 or 3 method. If you do lots of stop and go driving them that's sever driving conditions according to most owners manuals, but if you do lots of highway driving then you can extend the oil change for a few thousand more miles. Its only the size of the oil filter that made us start changing the oil sooner. Most are small then a typical cup of coffee so they start breaking down sooner putting all the contaminant back into the oil. Stick with what your car was made with, filters do have their own top ten list but the most advertised is not the best one for the buck.
