Nice cars under 20 grand?

The benefits of a manual trans are none if you are not comfortable with driving it. If you've been trying for a year and it hasn't become second nature not only will it be a dangerous distraction while driving you will find yourself more likely to have to replace the clutch very quickly. Now if you become comfortable with a manual trans your driving style will either give you more acceleration or more fuel economy. It also can allow for more control of speed while decelerating or driving downhill.
Another thing to consider if buying a used car is that the car could likely have been used by someone who was cheap rather then frugal and may have been lax in maintenance or it could have been bought for its performance and driven hard(not that its only a manual thing).
personal note I purchased an automatic in my last car (for ease of use for family and Friends) and still 130k later wish I had gone with the Manual Trans just miss that level of closeness I had with the road.

This is a pretty fair description about choosing an Automatic or manual transmission

Where is all the electricity going to come from to power all those new electric vehicles?

Cars with manual transmission are cheaper. They are more powerful and more economical. A manual transmission is also more reliable than an automatic. Experienced drivers of manual transmissions will tell you they like how it allows the driver to feel "closer" to the car. It's just more fun! However, it is more work to drive such a car, and can be especially difficult for the beginner. But don't be scared. You can learn how to drive such a car in just a few days. It's not as difficult as it seems.
It is much easier to drive cars with automatic transmission. Automatic transmission is more convenient in a city, in traffic jams, etc. But it involves a more complicated device and breaks more often. The repair of an automatic transmission is complicated and tends to be quite expensive. Regarding fuel efficiency, a car with an automatic transmission consumes an average of 1.3 times more fuel than the same kind of car with a manual transmission. When you buy a used car, the automatic transmission is the one of the most important parts to check -

1) Manual cars give you more time to exercise both your legs. Instead of only using right leg.

Are ignition modules on rover623s all the same.thank you.?

2)The Fuel efficiency is less on an automatic car. Automatic car is always 3 to 4 miles atleast lesser than manual car's fuel mileage. Say for example a manual car might give 40 Mpg(Miles per gallon), whereas the same model car in automatic will give you 36 Mpg.

3) If you are interested in off-roading, it is easier on a manual car than on a stick shift. Same with driving in winter, you can downshift and drive through snow, easier than drive an automatic which spins wheels.

In conclusion, You are in "control" of how fast the engine revs up(engine rpm), and how you handle your vehicle with manual transmission. Moreoever, it is more fun. Travel to other countries, Automatic cars are only driven by elderly people, or people with needs(special, age, etc). Everyone drives manual in most of the countries in the world.

Are there any behind the wheel driving courses anywhere in Jacksonville Fla?

Probably 9 out of 10 automatics are less fuel efficient (burn more fuel) than the same car with a manual transmission. Virtually all automatics also accelerate slower than a manual transmission car of the same model and engine (with a good driver behind the wheel). Automatics also burn out their brake shoes faster because most drivers of automatics don't use their gears to control speed, but manual drivers often do. Like you said, automatics cost more to buy. Also, automatics need to have their transmission drained and re-filled and their filter cleaned (or replaced) every 18 - 24 months. Some manual transmission vehicles can go for 10 years without changing their transmission oil. Engine oil change intervals are the same, only the transmission oil change intervals may differ. Automatics generally cannot be towed with the wheels on the ground (possible damage to the transmission). You can tow a manual transmission car from Peru to Canada and back with the wheels on the ground. When your battery goes dead, you can use jumper cables on either an automatic or a manual car. But, with a manual, (it is not recommended, but you can do it) you can also push or tow the car and pop the clutch to start it. With a faulty starter, the automatic is "dead in the water," but you can still push/tow a manual tranny vehicle to start it. Many states specify "automatic only" on your driver's license if you take your driving test in an automatic car. In an emergency, if the only vehicle available is a manual transmission one, where will that leave you? Unable to drive, or driving illegally?

Existing Green cars, Does anyone have experience with the FEV-320AS?

An automatic is easier to learn and is easier (for many people) to drive in stop-and-go traffic. If you get an alarm system with "remote start," an automatic is safer - less chance of the vehicle driving off without a driver - but there are "remote start" alarms specifically built for manual vehicles too.

Do other People fill you're car with gas in New Jersey?

After you've been driving a manual tranny (transmission) vehicle for a year or two, using the gear-shift and the clutch will become second-nature to you. Ever seen someone who normally drives a "stick" get into an automatic and reach for the gear-shift while driving? That's because it becomes second-nature to you after a while - you do it without thinking about it.

If you feel your better on an automatic, then go for it. At one time the complaint was, "Well manuals are faster" or "Manuals are more fuel efficient"...

The Toyota Prius is now rated at 46MPG, according to new EPA testing. Does this justify the price premium?

Actually that is no longer true. With new technology being implemented, the automatic transmission shift quicker, and in many large engine applications like V6 and V8, the automatics will be more fuel efficient over their manual counterparts. Take a look at a few BMW's EPA estimates to compare that.

So overall, if you feel better with an automatic, thast what's important that YOU feel comfortable and that in a moment of panic, will the car respond to you, or will it just stall there because you don't have the hang of it...
