Thre repo company works off of the call tags they are given. If you are behind the lender will notify them to get the car, they'll supply the repo company with key ID or the repo will use of their tools to start it (if necc).But if you've made the payments are are caught up, the lender is obligated to terminate the repo request. If the lender fails to contact the repo company anc cancel them, and your car does get taken by mistake, you can sue the lender for all related costs. Be sure you keep copies of checks, statements, money orders etc to show the repo folks if they do show up. If they are in doubt they will call and verify, if they don't you can later attest that you made all efforts to prove that you are caught up.
Like the others said, make the payments as the bad credit will really hurt you for 5-7 years and you'll pay more for other purchases.
The repo folks are doing their job, but if they show be polite and have as much documentation as you can. Good luck.
You could try to hide your vehicle...however, your credit is the thing that will get hurt the most. That means higher interest rates in the future.
