Most cars are designed to cope with a variety of roads, and to provide a comfortable ride. If you are prepared to accept a slightly less comfortable ride, a small amount of lowering can improve roadholding on fast sweeping roads. However, to make it effective you have to alter the spring and damper rates appropriately, which takes a lot of development time and effort. This is what car manufacturers do when developing the more sporting versions of their models.
Extreme lowering can provide benefits on a really smooth surface (i.e. a race track) if accompanied by appropriate changes in not just spring and damper rates, but also suspension and steering geometry. However, to make it work the ride has to be made very stiff, which reduces roadholding on even moderately bumpy surfaces (e.g. normal roads). Reinforcement of the suspension pick-up points may also be necessary, to cope with the higher shock loads transmitted by the stiffer suspension.

Its what boy racers do they seem to think its coolyes...looks. in everday driving there is NO advantage to lowering the vehicle. Also doing that puts additional stresses on suspension components causing premature wear.
