You can take it over there on you insurance but you will have to change it over there,It would be better to sell you car and buy a new one as they drive on the other side of the road so the driver needs to be on the left side.
For a British registered car to be legal in Spain it must be legal in Britain ( i.e. have a current tax disc, MOT and insurance).
Therefore for you to keep it any length of time in Spain you need to keep it taxed and MOT valid in Britain which could prove expensive in taking it back to the UK for MOT etc.
There are lots of companies willing to insure UK registerd cars in Spain .
