Please, Please, don't listen to KDM. Wax will NOT fade your paint. Wax, especially sealants serve as protective barriers. They provide beading or sheeting action (depending on the product) to help prevent water spotting, etc., and you'll find that sealants will help even more so.Will the Viper 5900 Alarm work on a manual transmission car?
In terms of layering wax, it honestly depends on the product. Some products contain cleaners that will remove the layer of wax before it, while others contain no cleaners and can be layered multiple times. Sometimes it isn't even dependent on whether there are cleaners, some products just won't bond to each other while others compliment each other beautifully.

Many detailing hobbyists and professionals (myself included) have found that multiple applications of the same or a particular combination of products to increase depth, reflectivity, wetness, etc, depending on the products used (another reason some people will do 2 coats is to ensure proper coverage). However, you've also got to realize that there's always a point to where adding more layers will result in diminishing returns.
Anyways, I hope that helps...but a few more tips; Carnauba is based layered over a synthetic; when using synthetic/polymer waxes, allow 24-48 hours for it to cure before applying another coat; and realize that most waxes (regardless of claims) last somewhere around 2-4 months.

you wont notice a difference for awhile.. but overtime, wax will fade the paint and even eat it. also, if you use the spray wax.... keep away from un-tinted glass. it can crack it.More Questions & Answers ...
