Which car is best to use as a taxi cab here in the philippines? toyota vios or corolla altis?

Question:
considering that most of the current taxis in philippines are corollas (1996-04). I was wondering which of these models are suitable for a taxi cab considering maintenance costs and efficiency.

Do you prefer an automatic or 5 speed and why??

The choice for a vios is a 1.3Liter M/T
and for altis is any 1.6L same M/T.
I've found used ones and both altis and vios having almost
the same price range.

Vios is fuel efficient but quite small
since it is a subcompact The altis is a compact.
I've seen more vios taxis around than altis ones.

My friend has a personalize car tage and it states "I W W W 4 " can anyone figure this out?

Popular model for cabs in PH is the VIOS 1.3J
It is a favorite because:
1. Steel wheels - easy to repair and cheap to replace than aluminum. And rim size is 13" means cheap tires too.
2. 1.3L Fuel Injected engine gives 14-16km/Liter mileage, better than 9-12 for the Altis
3. No Airbag. PH cab drivers are notorious for minor collisions and getting away with it. If they get involved in an accident, its easier to get away with a minor scrape, In a Altis, they have to stop since the airbag has deployed. Replacement is also expensive.
4. Non-power windows. Its the old turn the lever thing. Less maintenance, no electronics to worry about. No chance in kids playing around with it. As an added bonus, without the extra weight of electric windows mechanism for all 4 doors, your mileage improves.
5. Smaller size means easier to park and garage.

Can someone please do a carfax report for me? VIN 1GNFK13097R174944 THANKS?

BTW, despite the Vios looking smaller than the Altis, both carry the same capacity of passengers and luggage. Just that the Altis has a bit more headroom and legroom. But take note that the larger cabin the harder the airconditioner works. So the smaller cabin of the Vios gets a vote for efficiency.

Does anyone know the average weight a suspension bridge can hold? ANSWER NOW! (please)?

If you want all the same features but in a compact car, Nissan is also offering the GX model on their Sentra line specifically for Taxi operators. The size is the same as the Altis (Sentra has a slightly larger trunk capacity) but with the thrifty 1.3L fuel injected engine. If you opt for the Sentra GX, be sure to take the rustproofing option.

Any body have experience with an '02 Saturn SL?

Toyota is best, but (like a woman) if you can't afford one, ANY vehicle is great, if well maintained and carefully driven.

Who has the highest car mileage?

I would say that either one would be a good choice as a taxi. The Altis is more of a luxury vehicle compared to the Vios but the Vios gets more miles to the gallon so that would mean more of a profit for you. And please make sure it has air con. :) Hope I was of some help.
