If in a car we run the ac on full speed, will the car consume more fuel than when the ac is run at low speed?

Question:
What I really want to know is that if we run the ac of a car in full speed will the car consume more fuel than if we run the ac at a low speed.

Answers:

if you put a bus engine in a mini and a good gearbox, what will happen?

i don't think it will make any difference if AC is on high or low (economy or high)it will use a bit more fuel than if off (but comfort if worth the few cents it costs) if you live in a climate like mine QLD Australia

Does 4 wheel drive have any effect on ice?

ps the speed you drive at will not effect the AC

What is bio-diesel fuel ? Where does it come from? Why is it considered cleaner than gasoline?

It shouldn't, because the belt is running anyway.

how do you fit m3 mirrors to a corsa c?

It is constant. Fuel consumption is always constant give or take a few .01 of a mile. You will run out of gas in a short time if going a full speed only because you are going at a high speed. you will run out of gas in a longer time period, because the car it will take you longer to travel the same amount of distance.
PS. I don`t want to be in your car when you`re going do the interstate at full speed

What happens if a car dealership damages your car while "repairing it".?

Running AC in full or slow speed doesn't effect.
But fuel consumption increases in both cases that if u drive slow speed i.e. <60 or high speed i.e. >70. Fuel consumption is best when the vehicle runs on the speed between 60 to 70.

I need help passing my driving test!?

The best way to cool your car is to run the AC out the center vents at medium speed. This gives the system time to cool the air. I don't know about fuel use but I do know this will give you the coolest air.

How are police cars different in features from civilian cars?

Your will consume more fuel if the A/C is on.Fan speed will not make a difference as it is an electric motor and will consume little more amps when on high than low. When A/C is on it engages the compressor and strains the engine more and therefore consumes more fuel.Fan speed has nothing to do with it.

How do I get discount car rentals with Avis?

In a car Engine the AC Unit Belt is connected to the engine belt, thus the speed with which the car travels is the same as the speed of the AC unit belt hence there is no connection to ac running in full speed or slow speed, the fuel consumption is same.

what do you think is the best brand name car?

It would be so small that you wouldn't even notice. I assume that you mean low or full speed fan. To get the best efficiency out of you ac, you should have it set on recirculate. you do not want the vent or fresh air setting on. It will more quickly cool the air or dry it out, which is what an air conditioner does, hence the puddle of water under your car when you stop. The more humid the air, the more water you will have under your car.

why do guys think chicks don't know about cars?

The higher the fan setting, the more demand you will have on your charging system which will demand more fuel. Again very little as compared to not having your ac on at all. However, Most cars are designed to have much less wind drag when the windows are up. better fuel economy with the ac on/windows closed versus no ac/windows down. Also with the windows up you will not have that wind sucking noise on you ear.

corn to produce ethanol?what about world hunger verses gasoline?

I say for the amount of cost for ac just drive the best way you feel comfortable!

What is your first thought when you see a vandalised Speed Camera?

at what speed you run your ac won't matter. The blower for the ac is electric. The actual compressor that runs your ac will still turn at the same speed depending on the speed of your engine. Tests have shown that running the ac actually doesn't burn anymore fuel than if you don't. With the windows down you actually create a drag on the car and burn more fuel. I would recommend you crack a window until the ac then blows cool air and then close it and run it on recirc so that the air in the interior can circulate and stay cooler.

Do you think that diesel will ever be cheaper than gasoline again (in USA)?

Whenever U switch on the AC of the Car, The engine works more and thus burns more fuel than the non Ac performance, But when U run the AC at a higher speed compared to normal low speed there is no difference at all, Whenever the Compressor of the AC works the fuel consumption starts.

How many motorway services are there in the UK at present?

who cares. I spent 1200 for ac and when im hot i turn it on.

whats the difference between 1,2 or 3 channel car alarm systems?

Make a distinction between climate control and speed. Speed relates to the fan. If your car allows climate control, then lower the temperature, or to be more accurate - higher the difference between initial ambient temperature and your preferred temperature, the compressor has to do more work, and hence will draw more power from the engine and fuel in the process.

what's the difference between a big block and a small block engine?

If you only control fan speed, then there should be no difference.

does anyone know a website to buy witte screwdriver sets? all i can find are the insulated. need protop?

see this is simple, even when u reduce the speed of a fan in ur home thru a regulator, it still consumes the same power, the same logic is in car as well, no matter wat speed, of fan it is, if AC is on... the same qty of additional fuel burns in chamber..cheers!!
