My parents have a friend that drove a Volvo and put a million miles on it. He drove 100+ miles every day to work, he worked for the same company for probably 30+ years. He kept that car very clean, changed his own oil and had Volvo do the tune ups. I've heard of Toyota owners doing it, too.
