There is a difference in handling, especially cornering, but the real difference is what type you started driving in. If, like me you began years ago in a rear drive then that type is much more stable and familiar, especially if you push it hard. If you first drove in a front drive vehicle you may have become attached/familiar with it's unique handling characteristics.
