Question:
just need to know as a woman, just in case i get a flat someday. i don't want to be helpless looking for some stranger to help me.lol.
Answers:
how many times has the batmobile had a flat tyre?
hand brake on, jack up the car, loosen the nuts and remove tyre. Put new tyre on and put all nuts on very loosely first then tighten them by going diagonally over them. This ensures that the tyre is on straight. Put spare away and lower the jack. All done.how much does it cost to recover vehicle from compound?
To be on safe side if not sure drive to a service station afterwards to get them to double check it for you
I need a new car desperately!Who knows where I could get one free?
Get AAA.where can i find sesame street spare tire covers?
Same as Katie, but you have to "break" the nuts loose while the car is still on the ground. Otherwise, you won't get any torque on the nuts.Katie gives a great answer, but the best why to know how to do it is to have someone show you how.
I really didn't understand how to change a tire, no matter how many manuals I read, until I did it a few times with a friend of mine.
In the state of Texas does a person have a right to back out of a contract within 72 hours?
Find a friend who really, really knows how to change a tire, and ask them to show you how. Make sure you understand how your jack works, how to remove the spare from your car, and most importantly how take the lug nuts off and how to install them properly. I've seen folks install them backwards and wonder why their tire is rolling in front of them down the road.
can i use a wind blower instead of a turbo for the car?
At any rate, I hope your friends are knowledgeable, and good luck in your learning.
any tips or hints for safe driving?
since you are female you can get away with this.. just open trunk take out spare. Lean it against the rear of the vehicle and wait. some truckdriver or teenage boy will stop and change it for you.. Why should you do the hard work when someone else will do it for you....well the first ansswer is basically right but depending on the tire your changing and whether your vehicle is front or rear wheel drive your gonna always want to loosen the lugs before you jack the vehicle up because if your changing the front tire of a rear wheel drive vehicle you will have one heck of a time loosening the lugs once the car is in the air. so always loosen the lugs while the car is on the ground then jack it up, take the lugs off, remove the tire and put the knew one on. Hand tighten the lugs then give them a twist with your tire iron or four way. drop the vehicle back down and tighten them up in a star pattern.
