The previous owner must have been a smoker. The odor isn't real strong but it's still there and I would like to get rid of it. What's the best way to remove the smoke smell from the fabric, etc.? What products to use? I'm trying Febreze and air fresheners but still smell some smoke. How can I get rid of that odor?

Thoroughly clean the vehicle. And I mean THOROUGHLY. make sure you vacuum everything, clean all the windows with an ammonia based window cleaner, clean all the soft surfaces like vinyl and leather with an appropriate cleanser, and make sure you scrub all the hard surfaces like the dash and plastic panels as well (preferably with a citrus based cleaning product.) Sprinkle a good amount (enough you can see it) baking soda in the carpet, and let it set for a couple days, then vacuum it out. Finish up with a bit of Febreeze, and keep an air freshener in your car for a while. The hardest places to get the smell out of is the carpeting and any insulation material, as well as the seat cushions and the ventilation ducting. Concentrate the Febreeze in these areas.What about chains for our AWD in Oregon?

Letting the car air out if its cloth...leather.i don't know...First air it out. Open all the doors for an hour or so and just let some frsh air circulate through. Then get it detailed: a carpet shampoo, vacuum, dash board cleaning, the works. The shampoo itself should take most of the smell out. And the rest will make it smell alot better. After that, spray some Oust or Febreeze for any left over odor. Good Luck!!
