If the battery has good charge it may start your car but not guaranteed, Remember to hook the positive to the dead battery first then positive to the good battery, then negative to the good battery, then negative to a metal part on the engine, don't make the last connection to the battery cuz the last connection will cause a spark and you want to keep sparks away from the batteryLooking for a name for my red '04 Ford Focus?

Yes probably. It depends on how discharged your cars battery is and how full of charge the free standing battery is. It won't hurt to try but the free standing battery will quickly lose it's charge too. Good luck.
