Question:
Ok, I have a friend and he's got a '67 Camaro. It belonged to he's uncle who disappeared 18 years ago and they assume to he is probably dead. It is right now be stored at his grandmothers because he has no way of storing it at the moment (he lives in an apartment). The government is demanding that she remove all non-running cars from her yard, back and front (she's got a bunch of cars) and if she doesn't she has to pay fines that she can't afford. He has no way or storing it (nobody has room for it) and she is thinking about selling it. He wants to keep it, does anyone know of ANY places that can store cars long term for a reasonable price?

this 67 Camaro, is it worth anything sentimentally? If this goes away is it going to be irreplaceable? Probably another run of the mill Camaro, and will be easy to replace with a better one someday when your friend can afford to. If this is a very sentimental car that must be kept at all costs, then your friend has a problem.
What is needed to swap an automatic transmission from one car to another automatic car?
Problem, not running, not registered, not insured, not cheap to get going as a viable legal car in the short time your friend has before the city gets really mean about it and they will, and it will get really expensive for the gma to deal with then. Most cities have these laws in order to nail old cars they can austion and keep up this unusual source of income that they didn't have to raise taxes or parking meter rates for.
It's easy to get it running, but not cheap. That is if this has to be kept instead of replacing when your friend can afford it.
Why do British cars drive on the left and european cars drive on the right?
It's easiest to tow it somewhere new and hope for this stall tactic to buy the time needed to get it running and legal.
what is a pre select gearbox? how did it work in a bus?
For good places to store it, I recommend asking all friends to help for a set period of time, they probably not go along with an indefinite "someday" for the day it'll be out of their yard. Gma was cool to let it hang around for so long, but since money is tight, it's got to go.... I bet she sells it no matter what, if she can find someone who wants to deal with the back taxes and title problem that is going to arise.
If no one wants to store it, then check with the local garage or body shop... they will never get around to working on it anyway, and if they take on a small project, and delay after delay arises on their end, it's more time to raise the money to get this car legal... while it's in the shop. I've heard of many big jobs taking a year or two... and if your friend wants this so bad, why not have it fixed while the money is raised to pay for it?
why some truck are lowered only on the rear?
Almost last resort... rent a garage, in San Diego they c=go for about a 100 a month. This gets it off the gma's property and out of the way of the next lawman who is going to try to get it ticketed for being a non-op. While in the garage, friend starts working on getting it running. Also a good hang out for friends to help out with repairs.
Why car makers / car designers don't make / design wireless enabled vehicles ?
Last ditch effort, to keep the car... get ahold of the local Camaro club and plead like mad for mercy for being yet another Camaro fanatic with a dead car. They may know of someone with a big heart and empty barn or garage for temporary storage to keep the 67 out of the auction or junkyard.
How hard is it to put a 350 in a 1973 Mustang?
I recommend extensive asking and looking for a garage for rent, it's the best answer I've found. Storage units are far more expensive and will lock it away if the storage payments aren't met... garages are a little more like apartments in the eye of the law I think, and you get the whole eviction umbrella if things go bad.
Which SUV ( NOT HYBREDS ) 6 cylinder 4x4 automatic, give the best gas milage?
Also, try local highschools for the auto shop class project they will need in the next semester... read my blog entry about the class that restored the 58 Austin Healy, this is going to get more and more common now that restorations are getting lots of good sales at auctions.

boat yards. I had a similar issue a few years back. I moved into an apartment temporarily, and they only allowed me to have 1 car, so i found a boat yard that would store it. I had them hold onto it for 6 months, and the bill was like $250.Pennsylvania license switch to NJ license?
Yes, have your friend move out of the apartment into a house with an enclosed garage, and have the car towed there and put inside the garage where it will be protected.Which Gas is better? By Brand?

What is wrong with my 97 Ford Probe?
Legally by law she or anyone is allowed to keep a vehicle on their property as long as the vehicle is registered and has insurance. (in most states) When an unusual amount of cars start to pile up on a property then that is considered by city ordinance to be a hazard and a nuisance. If she sells off or removes all the vehicles from the property then you can register the Camaro get insurance put the car up on blocks and start restoring the vehicle. However the choice will be determined based upon the cost of registration/insurance versus the monthly cost of a small 10' X 20' storage unit plus the towing charge to the storage unit. You can also try a body shop or wrecking place but I wouldn't recommend it because they can make claim of ownership to the vehicle after it is on their premises for a period of time resulting in a forfeiture of the vehicle unless there is a legal contract for the storage of the vehicle for a predetermined amount of time. What is the best reasonably priced radar detector?
In the area that I live in there are many farmers with unused out buildings that are rented out for car storage.what does it mean when the sign says"speed is electronically timed"?
Beggars can't be choosers. He'll have to store it outside, with a car cover. Indoor storage places large enough for a car are $100 a month and up.how do you get your car out fo the inpound on need for speed underground 3?
Sometimes local law says the car just has to be "out of sight". Perhaps you can put a car cover over it, and get rid of all the other cars.
Its not that the Camaro is there... Its just the Camaro is surrounded by a dozen junkers that have to go. If it was just the Camaro, it wouldn't be a problem. All those OTHER cars have attacted attention.
Any '66-76 Pontiacs in that pile? I'm always looking for 400-455 engines. You could sell any valuable engines, and have the car bodies hauled off for scrap. Then the Camaro could stay.
