Question about my Radar Detector??

Driving in work, radar detector is working fine, the band switches, 162.450 (weather channel) who cares about the weather, when you're driving on the highway. Unplugged the detector, plugged the detector in, same thing, I even tried every mode, city, city 1, city 2, highway. How do I get it reading speeds??

Most radar detectors do not have a weather band. I'm not sure how you can prevent it from suddenly switching to the weather because I've never owned a radar detector like that. I do know it's best to keep your radar detector in one of those city modes because that will prevent you from receiving so many false alarms. What usually causes radar detectors to give false alarms is automatic doors at places like Wal-mart and grocery stores. You should add more details to this question. You need to let people know the make and model of your radar detector. You may have one of those Whistler or Cobra detectors. There is no way to know for certain what you should do because I have no idea what kind of radar detector you have.
