I'm trying to pursuade the family to hire one for a week to stay in britain, it would have to sleep 5 and apart from the obvious cost what are the pros and cons and any past experiances

I've never 'hired' or 'rented' one but have owned two and love the convenience the cost savings and the ability to stay most any place you want for as long as you want. The ability to pick up and travel to a new spot and have instant housing is a wonderful convenience. Beats the heck out of a tent.

If you travel behind a motorhome in the uk you can tell if it is hired by the distance he leaves from the kerb.
The last thing a hired motor home driver wants to do is get too close to the trees on the verge as any scratches or branch marks left by the trees will be deducted from the deposit or even the whole depost.
