How to get rid of static electricity in my car door?

Question:

Where can I rent a PT cruiser (white or silver color) in Toronto?

When weather conditions are favorable for static electricity, I have found the easiest means to solve this without getting a shock is to touch the car or door lock with my key, which discharges the static without shocking me. In this case the charge jumps from the end of the key rather than from my finger touching the car. Works every time.
