How do I find my local road conditions for my county roads?
It's more commonly called Multiplexing. Basically, instead of running seperate wires for everything (say, to the the rear lights), you run a single power supply, and a data cable to tell an electronic box at the other end how to distribute the power. Because you no longer need an individual power cable for every single thing, you have less wiring, which makes for less cost, weight, assembly time etc. The electronics required for the control/distribution system are dirt cheap, so the savings more than pay for them.why was the early Gasoline automoblie invented?!?!?
In one way, it's simpler and more elegant than traditional wiring, and should be more reliable, but if it does go wrong, it's a complete pain to manually track down a fault.
