What causes your engine to bog when you accelerate quickly?

Question:
When I down shift or get on the gas the engine bogs or backfires. I did a engine swap and talking to people they say it could be a hole in the intercooler or a bad turbo. I'm stumped! Any information would help. The engine is a SR20DET. Thanks

Answers:

Is ethanol production increasing this year?

When my GMC truck started doing that it was a clogged fuel filter. Since you said you swapped engines, it could be lots of things.

I live in British Columbia Canada and want to tour europe by road in MY CAR how do i do it?thanks.?

Obviously...check for a faulty fuel filter, an aging fuel PUMP...or something electrical, in the FSU..."fuel-sending-unit", in more modern engines

What Car DO you Recommend?

Fuel filter might be part of it, but here's another idea:
did you flash the ecu? just an engine swap won't work unless you fix the "computer" in the car. You should probably run your rig to a tuning shop, bud.
