it depends on where you live. they want to make sure that you are responsible enough to drive, they dont see how responsible everyone is they just put it to 16 because they feel that most people are ready then. also, depending on where you live and the population, they want to keep more new people off the roads. btw you should be glad that its 16 where you live, a ton of places like new york, the driving age is 18.Have I been another female ripped of from my local garage?
no, you're not ( as capable as in two years) . in Europe it's 18. I personally think that it's all right the way it is, but that the driving tests should be much harder. try to learn European driving rules and you'd be surprised...but that's where you will be allowed to drive also afterward, even if you would not ever want to- it's one for all.I kinda agree with you. It's not as if I'm more mature now, when I'm 14, than I was three weeks ago when I was 13. I actually think that I get less mature as I get older and maybe I get stupider too.

Why do traffic cones have holes on the top?
Think yourself lucky, in GB it's 17yrs for a moped and 18yrs for a bike or car. It's probably about statistics, there are likely to be more mature 16yr olds that mature 14yr olds. This means that 16yr olds are statistically more likely to drive sensibly than 14yr olds.
maturity level, it should be 18.
