Question:
The low trac light came on while my husband was driving home. We have a 99 monte carlo ls. Could it be just b/c he was sliding a little from all the snow on the road? The tires don't replaced by any means, we just bought the car about 6 weeks ago and the tires were brand new.

What exactly is a vehicle type S?
it is a feature called traction control. the computer in the car is getting a signal from the speed sensors that one tire or two are spinning faster than the other tires. front ones couse it is front wheel drive. so it sends a signal to the pcm to engage the tracion control. it is just cutting out cylinders to compensate for the loss of traction. if you dont like that feature there should be a button in the car to disengage the trac controlyou have traction control and it engaged ( limited the engine power to prevent wheel spin )
How is hauling a load in a trailer different than in the truck itself?
Yes, the car is warning you that the traction is low so that you can prepare for sliding and drive more carefully.Have a road test today. Any tips, heads ups?
does it mean "low traction", if so, probably just your wheels spinning in snow so ease off the gas and drive smooth.wats the fastest car in america?
Yup traction control get automatically engaged if you start to slip I happened to my mom and I when we hit some ice in our Pontiac Montana SV6Is there anything bad with hybrid cars?
Tell him to slow down, the wheels are spinning. How long should a deisel engine warm up before being driven?
Low Trac just means that you are sliding and you dont have good traction thats all. i have a 06 pontiac grand am that does that same thing as that.yah your traction control switch took affect.......... doesnt let power hit the wheels so theres no burn out, well in your case, unnecessary spinning of your wheels.....most new cars have it, but if im correct, there is actually a button in the car that can disengage that........just sayin
This code (light) is probably due to a defective wheel speed sensor. If the light does not reset in a few days, have it checked out at a reputable shop. On most models, when this light is on, the abs brakes are disabled by the computer to prevent wheel lock-up.
