Question:
I'm wanting to upgrade my cold air intake for my 2002 PT Cruiser, but have a hard time wanting to drop $200 - $300 on what seems so simple. I like the Airaid setup, and thought maybe to just pull out anything restrictive in the stock intake system and drop in a K&N filter. But I think flow might be better with more direct piping. Any suggestions for materials, etc? I want to make sure the air is cold, and don't want to pull hot air from the engine compartment. Please, no ABS or PCV.

I was in the same situation with my mazda rx8. A cold air intake for it is $300. What I did is I went on ebay and found some universal polished intake pipe and a universal cone air filter. My intake ending up costing me a total of $45 dollars with the air filter. For more information check out the website listed below. Good Luck! Why do the gas pumps have different "speeds" on them?

Is there a way to control a switch from a remote location like key less entry on a car?
I've had better luck with Weapon R Air Intake. I'd suggest you go with that. It can be picked up at www.superchargedperformance.co... for about $170...but well worth it. You'll spend at least half that for materials to make your own that still won't function nearly as well. And the time you have to put into fabricating it isn't worth it.If you still insist on making your own, pulling in hot air will always be a problem...you can't get away from that.
