Is there enough land to plant corn on to produce enough gas for every car in the U.S.?

Question:

Answers:

Best model of Buicks?

This is kind of a moot point because modern agriculture is very fossil-fuel intensive. It takes fossil fuels to make the fertilizer and insecticides. It takes fossil fuels to run the planting and harvesting machines. It takes fossil fuels to bring the crops to market. As it stands today, we use more fuel growing the corn than we can get out of it in the form of ethanol. Might as well skip growing the corn and put all that oil and gas directly in the cars.

What is the redline for the 1991 Nissan 300ZX N/A 2+2?

There's enough land but not all it is suitble for growing corn. Not to mention it would only produce about 2% of the world's fuel supply. It's not a feasible option, despite what people say.
