Question:
This happened in Ottawa, On, Canada.
Today, I parked in a spot where it was stated that you are allowed to park there for 120 minutes. The spot had no parking meter. When I got back to my car I found a parking ticket.
How the parking enforcement officer knew that my car was parked there for more than 2 hours? I doubt that someone circled the parking lot for 2 hours making notes which car was moved and which was not. This spot was in a Visitors Parking lot in front of a Government Building. The parking ticket was issued by the City of Ottawa.
Thank you.

Why do people use license plate frames from the dealerships they got their cars from?
They chalk your tire and come around after 2 hours. If chalk is still on your tires you get ticketed.transporting a car! Need quote?
But you may argue that in under 2 hours you went back to your car, left the lot with it, sometime later returned, and were ticketed while definitely in the new 2 hour window.Plane Kerosine or Car Fuel? Which Contaminates more and whv??
Unless they have video tape, and as long as you don't state your side's lie as an obvious lie, they should rip up the ticket.
hey, which car should my parents buy.....?
I have seen 'meter maids' go by cars use a chalk marker attached to the end of a stick. They marked the rear tire. Next time around the circuit, they ticketed the cars with marked tires.Artlogic's argument sounds good, but a chalk mark will be erased after driving around the block. So the judge could set the fine to whatever he pleases since he will know you're telling a lie under oath. bad move.
I have seen this happen in Ottawa before, when I was parked waiting for someone. An officer goes around in his car and brushes the car with a brush to identify that the car has been there for a certain time. When he comes back if there are still cars with brush marks there in the spaces, you will get a ticket.

Police goes around chalking little marks on front tyres every two hours. When they return two hours later, they issue summons to all cars with the chalk marks intact. How do you think modes of transport will develop in the next 50 years?
Believe it or not, most of the people that work those routes around government buildings don't have to go very far so they can watch most all the vehicles in there area.More Questions & Answers ...
