This is dangerous and inconsiderate. Modern automobiles have no problem getting up to the posted speed by the time the on-ramp ends. So why do people think it's OK to merge into highway traffic at 10 or 15 mph below the posted speed? If this offends you, then why do you do it?
NOTE: The little pedal on the right is what you need to push. Not only does it make the car sound louder, it also makes the car go FASTER too. AMAZING!! The things they come up with these days!!

This happens because they are scared. Which is definately a trait that compounds traffic problems. With such high volumes of traffic flowing along a modern highway, some people feel that a slower approach will be safer. I can understand why this happens, but I agree that it would be less annoying but not neccessarily safer (there are those idiots) for drivers to merge at the speed limit.Also, not all modern vehicles do have the power to get up to speed quickly. Many modern 4 cylinder engines are a long way from "powerful".

Just like this morning...why was some woman driving along in the passing lane at 10 mph UNDER the speed limit when there was nothing impeding here resulting in a whole line of cars passing on the right.

They're just not paying close enough attention to how fast traffic is really going. There should be tighter requirements for liscencing. I drive in city traffic all day and I gotta say the same. MAN IS THAT EVER ANNOYING!!You have hit on one of my top pet peeves. I absolutely cannot stand it when people do that! It is totally dangerous! I have noticed a majority of the offenders talking on their cell phones, so that might be a factor..
