what is the average length of a passenger car in the u.s?
Hi there!I hate driving, I get so nervous..why?
Under EU rules, you must take 11 hours of daily rest (i.e. rest between shifts). This can be reduced to 9 hours rest, up to three times in a 'fixed' week (i.e. Monday to Sunday).
Help!! will I ever be able to drive it?
Effectively, this means that your normal shift length is 13 hours, but it can be increased to 15 hours up to three times per week.
Shift time is different from Working Time. Shift is from 'clocking on' to 'clocking off' and does include breaks. Working Time is all the time you spend doing any sort of work, and does not include breaks.
The Road Transport Directive which came into effect in 2005 means that your average working week must be no more than 48 hours, with no more than 60 hours worked in any given week. Your company will have a 'reference period' of between 17 and 26 weeks - what they do is divide the amount of weeks by the total amount of hours that you have worked during that reference period. It must not average out at more than 48 hours per week.
how to you get over the fear of driving next to big trucks?
Working time does NOT include breaks, lunches, Periods of Availability, etc. - it ONLY includes work.
Additionally, the amount of driving you can do in a working day is limited - 9 hours per shift, but this can be increased to 10 hours a maximum of twice in any 'fixed' week.
