What if I think I got a redlight camera ticket but my car doesn't have plates yet?
50 or 60 years ago you could...back then, the ignition switch was just screwed into the dashboard..all one had to do was get behind the dash (or take the switch out) and contact the two proper terminals with a screwdriver. (Or make bare spots in the right wires and cross them)- but back then, car thievery wasn't common, and half the people left their keys in the ignition anyway. How many miles per gallon can you get from a 17 ton truck?
Forget about it. Most of the cars now have anti-theft devices that won't let the car start with the correct key. The screw driver idea will get real costly when you go to replace it and whatever else you messed up by trying it.Yes. You just pop off the part where the key goes in and then you can turn it on with a flathead screwdriver. At least they used to way back in the olden days. I don't know if you can do it anymore. Besides, don't you know how much trouble you can in for doing that? Unless, of course the car belongs to you. Even then, if a cop pulled you over for something I think you would have some 'splainin to do.
